What Does "colloidal" mean and why is it important?

I seem to feel OK. Do I really need mineral and vitamin supplements?

Only your doctor can tell you for sure, but If your diet fits solidly or loosely into the category of the "American Diet", you are very likely in need of supplements. Who is most in need of nutritional supplements?

The elderly, the growing young and people on low calorie diets. The elderly doesn't mean just your great grandparents. As we age, the body does a progressively poorer job of absorbing minerals. Children during peak growth stages may be deficient in minerals and vitamins during this critical time. Folks who are dieting under a doctors care are almost universally advised to supplement the diet with vitamins and minerals. These supplements should be ultra-absorbable. "Minerals create a healthy environment in which the body, using vitamins, proteins, carbohydrates and fats, can grow, function, and heal itself." Let me say that again. Heal itself. This is a quote from Rodale's Complete Book Of Minerals For Health. If you lack any mineral, a deficiency is the result which can lead to degenerative diseases of many kinds as well as a breakdown of the cell regeneration and growth process which leads to the loss of the cells themselves. This can lead to nervous disorders, muscle damage, brain damage or illness. A deficiency of minerals has been traced to low energy, cancer, unnecessary aging, obesity, loss of memory, immune system disfunction, fragile teeth and bones and a host of others too numerous to mention. If your diet does not provide these essential minerals and vitamins, supplementation is something you should seriously consider. Use the most absorbable form.

Why do you put lead and mercury in the minerals? I thought these heavy metals were harmful.

All of the trace minerals in the formulation are present in the raw source material and are naturally occuring. They are not added. They are in the needed trace amounts only. Trace amounts of all the minerals are necessary for the synergistic chemical reactions necessary for your system to utilize vitamins and the other minerals. Some minerals, such as aluminum and mercury can be toxic if available in a different form and far in excess of trace amounts. At the recommended dose of 1 or even 2 ounces per day, a toxic level cannot be produced. Eating leaded paint chips, drinking from a lead contaminated water source, or receiving your water through old lead pipes, fixtures or lead joined pipes can be dangerous over time. We now know aluminum cookware and coffee pots are not recommended and is not the same form of aluminum as that found in dietary supplements. When I was a kid, it was common to rub quarters and dimes with mercury to make them look new. We now know the dangers associated with mercury. Stay informed, protect and educate your kids. Our mistakes must not be theirs.
